Are you residing in the vicinity of the Tri-Community and would like to be a part of this project? We are happy to have you! Here are some general guidelines.
- While we are hoping to primarily feature healthy recipes with a particular emphasis on preventing cancer, all recipes that kids are enthusiastic to share are welcome. We all eat differently and there is no judgement here. We can each try out the recipes that best fit our families and modify them to fit our individual needs.
- To have a post, we need 2 things at a minimum: a single picture and some words. If children would like to take a picture of a meal they are enjoying and let us know the ingredients, that is more than enough!
- If your child would like to share pictures or videos of themselves but privacy is a concern, we can password protect individual posts. Just let me know! Since we are a small community, I will give out the password by word-of-mouth, or you can text me (Michelle) and I will pass it along!
- The goal is for this to be as child-led as possible. There are no hard rules about how a post has to look. Here are some ideas of what can be included:
- An original recipe
- A healthy recipe from another site or resource (we will link to the recommended recipe)
- A modified recipe from another resource (we will share the child’s version and reference the source of inspiration)
- A cooking show video of them making their recipe
- Pictures of them making their recipe
- Pictures of them eating their recipe
- Articles on growing their own food
- Tips for eating more healthy foods
- General articles on healthy living
- Articles on what they learn about nutrition
- A review of their favorite varieties of apples
- A collection of random thoughts on brussel sprouts
- Vegetable related poetry
- You get the idea…
